As so much of our natural world comes under attack from the ravages of human exploitation and an ever increasing need for more living space so it seems that our precious flora and fauna are the victims in an unwinnable struggle for survival. Everyday we hear of species that are threatened - or near extinction - and becoming extinct. What a loss to the world would be not just the extinction of the tiger but also so many other animals and plants we rarely spare a thought about but which are every bit as much a vital part of our global biodiversity and family of life.
The waste is the worst part. The slaughter of animals just for their for body parts for unproven medical practices or exotic foods is shameful. It is difficult, if not impossible, for most of us to have our individual voices heard, but perhaps we could, in our own way and no matter how modestly, try to shout out on issues that are important to us.
